Google Forms provides teachers with a great way to question/quiz their students. This tool allows you to create exams with various question types (multiple choice, short answer etc.) and to email the form to an unlimited number of respondents. Once students have answered the form, their answers are automatically entered into a spreadsheet which allows for easy marking by the teacher.
Additionally, this tool may be used by students to create questionnaires in order to gather primary data for a research project!
