QuestionPress

www.questionpress.com

What a great website for creating online class quizzes! I have recently started using this website to create web-based class tests. What makes this resource so great is that it allows the facilitator to release the questions to students one at a time or to allow the pupils to answer the entire test at their own pace.

While students are completing the task they are able to send a private message (can be switched off) to their teacher in order to ask for assistance. Other features include:
- Instantly collated results
- A variety of question types including true/false, multiple choice, short answer, essay, sort the following etc.
- A number of privacy features

The only downside to this site is that it costs $24 per year to use. Having said that it is well worth the fee as it does a far better job than many free-based tools currently online.

RESULTS:
My classes seem to enjoy doing quizzes this way and they particularly love the quick feedback. This tool is also very useful for students with special needs, as it is possible to encourage those pupils to simultaneously conduct an internet search for answers if they are struggling with answering the test.

  2. QuickieQ now offers the ability to act as a student response system, with a laptop, smart phone or other mobile internet device operating as the response unit. Very practical!
